Are higher watt light bulbs banned in America?

You can’t get any higher than 60wt in the UK anymore because they’re trying to get everybody to use energy saving bulbs, so they banned any higher than 60wt.

The exact same thing is happening here in the US.

The first answer is partially correct. The US is banning the sale of ALL incandescent bulbs by 2014. We will be forced to use the more expensive, ghastly compact fluorescents.

Public smoking bans and bans on the public consumption of alcohol are common here too.

Actually, many in the US see the UK and Canada as being MORE free, because you don’t have religious groups using the government to legislate their version of ‘morality’ as we do here (such as gay marriage, etc.)
